Tjörvi for Sony

Hi! My name is Tjörvi Jónsson—a cinematographer from Iceland. I’ve been using Sony equipment since 2016.

About me

I’m a cinematographer based in Iceland. I’ve owned Sony equipment throughout my career, and it’s been essential to my work. My current kit includes the FX6, A7S III, the UWP wireless mic system, and a few older Sony cameras.

What am I going to be doing

I have recently been hired to direct and film a tv program here in Iceland called Golfarinn. A show about Golf in Iceland. I am looking forward to that project and will be using both my A and B camera on that production as well as your mic solution and etc..

I’m currently upgrading my lens kit and would love to add Sony G Master lenses so I can fully rely on Sony’s fast, accurate autofocus on set.

What do I want and what do you get in return?

In exchange for a discount or sponsorship on one or more lenses, I can deliver:

  • A behind-the-scenes video from the production, highlighting how the Sony ecosystem supports focus/audio reliability in real shooting conditions

  • A short interview/testimonial about the production and working with Sony gear

  • Production stills and photos of the kit in use

I’ll also continue using the lenses on future commercial and TV projects, creating additional opportunities for content.

At 24, I’ve directed and shot several advertising projects in Iceland—many of them running in prime TV slots over the past few months. I’ve also worked as DOP on a major documentary series, and I’m now moving into more TV work.

I’ve been shooting on Sony for years, and I’d love to explore a collaboration—whether that’s supporting a production, creating behind-the-scenes content, or representing the brand as my projects grow.
